Community Action Day: Deepening Community Bonds and Fostering Future Health Care Leaders
American University of the Caribbean (AUC)’s long-standing Community Action Day is a celebration of service, learning, and community collaboration.
AUC School of Medicine in collaboration with the Positive Foundation and The Ministry of Public Health, Social Development, and Labor, hosted a successful breast screening event on Saturday, October 1 at the Vineyard Building in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten.
Born and raised in Puerto Rico, third-semester American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) medical student Guillermo Reyes Martinez grew up with the notion that education was a privilege that should not be taken lightly.
Students, faculty, and staff came together for the 10th annual AUC UK Symposium during the weekend of September 2-4 at our UK Track program site, the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) campus in Preston, UK.
During the July 23 event, 209 AUC students and colleagues collaborated with community partners to drive forward more than a dozen service projects in health, education, environmental awareness, and more.
AUC clinical student Amanda Kuruvilla, who is now completing rotations in the United Kingdom, served as a teaching assistant and tutor for multiple courses during her time in medical sciences at AUC’s Sint Maarten campus. Hundreds of graduates donned their regalia, recited the Physician’s Oath, and moved their tassels from right to left during AUC’s Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, May 21, 2022.
