This New Brunswick native headed back home to Canada to take on a gynecologic oncology fellowship at the University of Toronto.
AUC is proud to not only champion women in medicine but to also lead by example. Our executive dean, administration, and faculty include strong female role models who have mentored thousands of AUC students. In celebration of International Women’s Day on March 8, 2018, we recognize a handful of women who exemplify progress in the field of medicine.
Third year student and past-SGA president Brian Crosser recently presented research at the Big Sky Athletic Training Sports Medicine Conference in Montana. His work, which studied the impact of exercise on patients with post-concussive syndrome, was a collaborative effort with alumna Dr. Katie Essad (Class of ’12).
A bittersweet aspect of medical school is that close friends often become long distance after graduation, dispersing across the country for residency and fellowship. Not so for Drs. Hamid Ghanbari and Reema Hasan, two AUC grads who work just an office apart.
“The moment I saw her, with formaldehyde in the air, I knew she was the one,” says Dr. Tabaac, who will begin a vascular neurology fellowship at Johns Hopkins this summer.
AUC has launched three new scholarship programs to recognize incoming students with superior academic achievement.
Colleagues who went above and beyond during Hurricane Irma were surprised with the Ron Taylor Award, an honor given to employees for in-the-moment contributions that inspire service, build teamwork, and go the extra mile.
