Community Action Day: Deepening Community Bonds and Fostering Future Health Care Leaders
American University of the Caribbean (AUC)’s long-standing Community Action Day is a celebration of service, learning, and community collaboration.
More than one-hundred new medical students received their short white coats during AUC’s White Coat Ceremony on Monday, January 7. The event closed out a week of orientation for incoming students and served as their official welcome to AUC and the medical profession.
2018 was one for the books as AUC celebrated numerous achievements and milestones, from our 40th anniversary to the 10th year of Community Action Day—all after returning to Sint Maarten from our temporary campus in the UK. Fourth-semester student Mariel Chan has been named the September 2018 Student of the Semester. As a part of her award, Mariel will receive a $5,000 grant to be spent on a community initiative of her choosing
Join us for a live webinar on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. ET, to explore the specialty of obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN) and hear from AUC alumni practicing in the field.
During AUC’s 40th Anniversary Reception in Sint Maarten, Executive Dean Dr. Heidi Chumley honored six colleagues with a Service Appreciation Award for their 20 or more years of employment with the university.
Faculty-student research collaborations are a staple at AUC, and we’re proud to acknowledge two recent publications from members of the AUC community.
