Community Action Day: Deepening Community Bonds and Fostering Future Health Care Leaders
American University of the Caribbean (AUC)’s long-standing Community Action Day is a celebration of service, learning, and community collaboration.
At age 17, Farshad Ghasemi emigrated from Iran to Toronto, ON. Until his family joined him two years later, he navigated life in a new country on his own, attending York University for undergrad and working towards his childhood dream of becoming a physician.
When you’re heading into unfamiliar territory, there’s nothing like a healthy dose of advice and encouragement from someone who’s been there to help put you at ease.

More than 20 alumni and their families joined AUC's Office of Alumni Relations on Saturday, October 26 for a day of fun at Disneyland.
In March 2011, the Syrian government violently responded to public demonstrations in support of the Arab Spring.
"Not only did AUC School of Medicine pave the way for me to become a general surgeon, but it allowed me to further my surgical education in the competitive field of plastic and reconstructive surgery," says Dr. Daniele.
