Recognizing Your Achievements

AUC offers scholarship awards for students currently enrolled in the medical sciences program. These scholarships were designed to assist students with funding for medical school while also recognizing attributes that are central to the AUC mission and culture. Opportunities include:

Social Accountability Award - Deadline: Closed

The AUC Social Accountability Award recognizes students who have made contributions to the communities of St. Maarten during their medical sciences education. The award is given during the third, fourth, or fifth semester.

Student Engagement Award - Deadline: Closed

The AUC Student Engagement Award recognizes students whose activities as part of the campus community have helped to enhance and foster the AUC culture of collaboration. The award is given during the third, fourth, or fifth semester.

AUC students are also eligible to apply for scholarships offered through Adtalem Global Education's Empower Scholarship Fund. The Fund strives to help keep education within reach by providing financial support to qualifying students at Adtalem institutions, including AUC. Current open scholarships include: 

Dr. Karl Stockhausen Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: February 15, 2018
The Dr. Karl Stockhausen Memorial Scholarship is a restricted scholarship benefiting current AUC medical students. Scholarships of up to $5,000 each are awarded annually to up to three students. This award honors Dr. Karl Stockhausen, an alumnus of AUC who showed a deep commitment to serving and healing others. 

Dr. Susan Atchley Memorial Scholarship - Deadline: February 15, 2018
The Dr. Susan Atchley Memorial Scholarship is a $3,000 award given annually to a current AUC medical student in good academic standing. The scholarship honors Dr. Susan Atchley, a past-professor at AUC who forged strong relationships between the medical school and community organizations in Sint Maarten.
