AUC Up Close

Sacramento, CA

AUC Up Close events are small group sessions where prospective students get together with AUC admissions colleagues to hear personalized feedback about applying to AUC, engage in open discussion about our MD program, and discuss anything under the sun related to medical school. These events are held at restaurants or hotels in your area. We'll save a seat at the table for you—bring your questions (and your appetite!) and come get to know us in an informal setting.

We'll be joined by AUC graduate Valerie Garden, MD ('1986), an ophthalmologist who's been practicing in Santa Rosa for the last 15 years. She completed an ophthalmology residency at University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC), then a fellowship in oculoplastic reconstructive surgery (also at KUMC). Dr. Garden volunteers part of her time to Operation Access (OA), an organization that enables Bay Area health care providers to donate vital surgical and specialty care to people in need. Read more about Dr. Garden's experiences with OA in this 2017 blog post.
