Careers at AUC
The American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine (AUC) is seeking to increase the size of its basic sciences faculty and is accepting applications from qualified candidates. The University is an accredited medical school founded in 1978 with over 4,000 graduates and is dedicated to educating and training physicians. The basic sciences campus is located on the beautiful island of St. Maarten (www.st-maarten.com) and is approximately 3 hours by air from Miami. AUC has a modern campus and an exceptional faculty composed of both M.D.s and Ph.D.s who are committed to excellence in medical education. A comprehensive library and IT department are available for support.
Our medical students are mainly from the United States and Canada. Students complete their first two years of basic medical sciences in St. Maarten and their second two years of clinical sciences at affiliated hospitals in the United States or United Kingdom. Students are required to take all USMLE licensing examinations. Graduates do their residencies in the United States and Canada.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. and/or an M.D. in the discipline for which they are applying. Good communication skills and a strong commitment to teaching are required. Candidates must have experience in teaching medical students in the U.S. system of medical education. Rank and salary are commensurate with experience.
