Irma: Studies of Resilience

Hurricane Irma was the strongest storm on record to impact the leeward islands. In Sint Maarten, where AUC's medical sciences campus is based, the category 5 storm caused devastation: streets were flooded, houses were leveled, trees were downed, and lives were tragically lost.

But in all of this loss, we have been truly inspired by the stories of AUC students, faculty, and colleagues. Here, we explore how our community came together to search for missing people, treat injuries, and feed and help those in need. We are incredibly proud of their strength, compassion, and resilience.
